Binubuhay kahit pasaway

I just underwent (today, Oct. 13) a coronary angioplasty with one stent placed on the left anterior descending (LAD) artery.

An angiogram was recommended by a cardiologist in March after my annual physical exam resulted in a POSITIVE reading for the treadmill test. Since the treadmill is nonspecific and only shows blockage, they need to do an angiogram to determine which blood vessels are blocked. For many years the treadmill test was equivocal (neither positive nor negative) but in January 2026, it became positive. I told the cardio then that I would consider it toward the end of the year after I got back from my already-scheduled trips. I also told myself I would get a second opinion.

When I got back from Spain (September), the cardio I consulted in March (and since July last year when I was diagnosed with hypertension) was no longer with Medical City Antipolo Clinic so I had to switch to another doc... and he became my second opinion. He saw my treadmill results and the tracings (actual ECG reading during the treadmill test) and agreed that I should undergo the procedure.

The angiogram showed 80% block of the LAD while right and left coronary arteries were clear. It is a miracle that all this time I was able to play pickleball every Saturday, and walk regularly (recently finishing the last 119km of the Camino de Santiago Portuguese route), without chest pain, shortness of breath, nor difficulty breathing.

Doc said we just prevented a heart attack.

Grateful for the Lord's deliverance yet again. Binubuhay kahit pasaway. When I had my second breast cancer (2021), I kinda felt that I was God's favorite. Today He kinda confirmed it.
